Speaking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going forward till I really feel better concerning the path of our nation."

In a blog submit, Kapler questioned whether or not the nation's leadership is committed to representing its folks's finest interests and whether or not the US is actually "the land of the free and the home of the brave."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied along with your country, you let it be identified by way of protest. The home of the courageous ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion towards gun violence in the USA.

Kerr refused to talk about basketball forward of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' sequence against the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"Within the last 10 days, we've had aged Black folks killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got youngsters murdered at college," Kerr instructed reporters at the start of the press conference.
