Gabe Kapler: ‘I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going forward until I really feel higher about the path of our country’

Talking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I feel better about the course of our country."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked mother and father trying to prepare to charge in to stop the shooter, together with a father who discovered his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra essential than our kids's freedom to go to highschool with no need bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the dearth of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I might have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied together with your nation, you let it's identified by means of protest. The house of the brave ought to encourage this."

Kerr refused to talk about basketball ahead of Sport 4 of the Warriors' sequence towards the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed against gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"In the last 10 days, we've had elderly Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've children murdered at college," Kerr advised reporters at the beginning of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I am tired. I'm so tired of getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated households which are out there ... I am bored with the moments of silence. Sufficient."
