Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to try to sell damaged car with missing tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 instances the legal alcohol limit after at the least 5 individuals called 911.

Officers say the calls began coming in around 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They are saying witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway close to the Fundamental Road exit. They say the crash brought on a flat tire and the automobile to smoke, however the driver saved going.

Different callers say the driving force was all over the street and now missing a entrance tire.

They say he ultimately stopped at a car dealership and appeared “super drunk.”

Workers informed police the motive force, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was attempting to sell his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had simply been in a crash.

They are saying Mattingly smelled of alcohol and almost fell a number of instances. Officers say he examined .291 on a conveyable breath check.

Police say inside his SUV, they discovered Four Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is facing a number of fees.

He is the son of the manager for the Miami Marlins and former professional baseball player, Don Mattingly.
