An 8-year-old boy vacationing in South Carolina was fatally shot when a person shooting randomly at passing vehicles struck his household’s car, authorities mentioned Tuesday.
Quarius Naqua Dunham, a third grader from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, was fatally injured within the taking pictures Saturday near Florence, the Florence County Sheriff's Office mentioned.
Quarius’ father, who was driving the automobile, was struck in the leg, the discharge said. The boy was shot in his neck and pronounced useless at a neighborhood hospital Monday, NBC Boston reported.

“Investigators allege that Allen fired multiple random rounds at passing autos,” the workplace stated. No motive has been decided.
In a statement, Portsmouth Schools Superintendent Steve Zadravec stated Quarius — a 3rd grader — was vacationing together with his family in South Carolina on the time of the shooting, according to NBC Boston.
“An event like this touches our group as a complete,” he said. “Our hearts are with the family as we support one another by this unbelievable tragedy.”
Portsmouth Mayor Deaglan McEachern instructed the station: "You go on vacation to make memories that final a lifetime with your kids, and for this tragedy to befall this household, I used to be simply sick to my abdomen."
It wasn't instantly clear whether Montgomery, who is being held on the Florence County Detention Middle, has a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
