The household of an 11-year-old woman who survived the massacre at Robb Elementary Faculty in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday says the 4th grader performed lifeless after the gunman entered her classroom.

Miah Cerrillo's aunt and godmother stated the 4th grader is struggling to manage and telling them what she witnessed during the shooting.

"Around midnight my sister-in-law referred to as me and he or she was simply crying, like 'I think it just hit Miah. I think everything got here to reality now,'" said Blanca Rivera.

Rivera stated Miah's teacher, Irma Garcia, was one of many two academics killed. Her friends and classmates have been additionally focused.

Rivera stated that's when Miah went into survival mode.

"Miah acquired some blood and put it on herself so she may faux she was dead," said Rivera. "It is too much for me to play that scene time and again, however that's what my sister-in-law mentioned is that she noticed her buddy stuffed with blood and she acquired blood and put it on herself."

Miah was injured but taken to the hospital and has been released.

"My brother stated she had bullet fragments in her back," said Rivera.

Rivera, a mother of three, stated the family is rallying round Miah to assist her recover physically, emotionally and spiritually.

"At this level, we just have to pray and ask God to assist us transfer forward by this situation, I do know it's traumatizing as it's," stated Rivera.
