Ten people have been injured, 4 critically, and three law enforcement officials have been hurt Monday night after gunfire erupted in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, according to police.
Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg called the Memorial Day rampage a mass shooting, saying "we’re counting our blessings that no one on this incident was killed."

Two Charleston County Sheriff’s Office deputies have been assaulted while attempting to control the crowd, leading to minor accidents, the sheriff's office said.
“One person swung at a deputy, putting the deputy within the face. The deputy was later treated for facial accidents. One other deputy was knocked to the bottom by a member of the crowd. The deputy suffered cuts to the pinnacle and arm,” Andrew Knapp, a spokesperson for the Charleston County Sheriff’s Workplace, told NBC affiliate WCBD of Charleston.
Reynolds mentioned there were more than 100 proof markers at the taking pictures scene, and more than half are shell casings.
“There’s quite a lot of weapons that had been fired. Handguns, lengthy guns, 223 rounds. If anyone doesn’t know what a 223 round will do, it’ll blow your leg right off, it’ll blow your head right off your shoulders. Those are the forms of rounds that were fired final night time,” Reynolds stated.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are still working the scene.
Two individuals have been arrested stemming from the assaults on the deputies, police stated.
Those suspects were identified as Ayesha McGee and Tahira McGee, NBC affiliate of WCBD of Charleston reported, citing experiences from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
Ayesha McGee was charged with third-degree assault and battery and Tahira McGee with second-degree assault and battery and resisting arrest.
Officers said more arrests are expected.
Officers said South Avenue from Nassau Avenue to Drake Street and America Road from Reid Avenue to Mary Avenue in the space will stay closed to course of the shooting scene.
The mayor condemned gun violence within the metropolis and throughout the nation, a nod to the Buffalo, New York, grocery store capturing and the Uvalde, Texas, college shooting.
“I don’t find out about you however I’m mad about it. I’m fed up,” Tecklenburg said. “Sufficient is enough."
Tecklenburg introduced an 8-point plan to address gun violence that includes graduated penalties for gun crimes, selling safer firearm use, and shutting down events without correct permits.
The capturing occurred throughout a violent Memorial Day weekend. A preliminary rely found that gun violence left not less than 156 people dead and 412 injured from 5 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, the Gun Violence Archive said.
